Welcome to Harvest Café, Sheboygan’s new Fresh taurant!
We are Lisa and Brian Bernier (aka Chef Bernie).
Together we bring 16 years of organic farming, many years of healthy cooking and brewing probiotic drinks, as well as decades of art appreciation.
Chef Bernie wrote the article ‘Behind the Food’ for the Sheboygan Press for upwards of three years and learned what people in the area are looking for in a restaurant.
We searched six other locations in Wisconsin before deciding on 8th and Pennsylvania in Sheboygan. We chose Sheboygan because the community is conscious of consuming local and organic food, has an appreciation for the arts, and loves Mother Earth.
Feed members of the community organic and local food, provide education on healthy eating, minimize waste going into landfills, share local art, and build bridges to make lasting connections.
The food we serve is sourced from over 20 farmers and producers. We have met with each one to ensure we like how they treat their animals and vegetables; (except the farmer in Scotland who provides us with our Salmon – it’s on our list, though!)
We offer classes in the evenings, including: Living Organic on a Budget, Making Probiotics, and Fun Cooking. More classes will be added as we continue to grow.
We take the time to compost our kitchen scraps, coffee grounds, and other compostable materials in the kitchen. We encourage our guests to utilize our Compost and Recycle containers to the maximum, and to use the Landfill container to a minimum.
The To-Go containers we use are either recyclable, compostable, or biodegradable. The flatware is made of plant starch. We work hard to minimize our impact on the environment.
We welcome you to join us in supporting local small businesses and artists, and in taking care of Mother Earth.
If you have a great experience, please share it with others.
If you have any challenges, please ask for Lisa or Brian, and we will work together to make your next experience more enjoyable.
Live your passion!
-Lisa and Brian
